Another valuable card is Esper Sentinel , which can steeply tax opponents for playing noncreature spells, and giving it equipment or power-boosting aura makes the tax tough to pay

I'm not sure I think this translates well over to the card game either

It works with cards that double the amount of counters on permanents (any counters, not just +1/+1 counters)

It can stand alone on its own and be a scalable mass removal, or a bank of energy to store for later in energy decks

So its worth considering them when asking the question of how many total Magic cards exist
